Additional reading Wilbur Richard Knorr, Textual Studies in Ancient and Medieval Geometry (1989), in a detailed attempt to assess Hypatia's contributions to the history of the text of Archimedes' Measurement of the Circle, adds much of interest about Hypatia and her milieu.Maria Dzielska, Hypatia of Alexandria (1995), is a recent effort to disentangle the facts of her life from later embellishments.
