zoo opened in 1908 in Oklahoma City, Okla., U.S., which maintains one of the finest collections of antelopes and other horned ungulates in North America. The National Antivenin Index for snakebite emergencies is also based there. The 110-acre (46-hectare) zoo has about 2,800 specimens of more than 500 species, among which are found a herd of rare markhor goats and breeding colonies of golden lion marmosets.
