a US film actor and director whose many films include Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and McCabe and Mrs Miller (1971). He received an Oscar as ‘Best Director’ for Reds (1981). Beatty is famous for having had affairs with many beautiful women. His sister is the actor Shirley MacLaine .
