an English journalist who began writing about punk (1) music for the New Musical Express in the 1970s. She has written articles about a wide range of subjects for different newspapers and magazines, and became well known for saying things that people find shocking or annoying. She has also written novels and an autobiography, I Knew I Was Right (1998).
