I . Richard E Byrd
( Richard Evelyn Byrd 1888–1957)
a US explorer and navy pilot. In 1926, he and Floyd Bennett made the first flight over the North Pole. Byrd also flew over the South Pole in 1929 and went on several journeys to Antarctica.
II . William Byrd
(1543–1623)
an English composer, known for his religious music. He was a student of Thomas Tallis , and one of the greatest musicians of the Tudor (1) period. Although he was a Roman Catholic , he also wrote many pieces of music for the Church of England .
