I . Cleveland
1. a former county in north-east England, formed in 1974 from parts of Durham and North Yorkshire. Its administrative centre was Middlesborough.
2. the second largest city in the US state of Ohio . It is on Lake Erie and is a major port. John D Rockefeller began Standard Oil there in 1870. Cleveland was the first large US city to have an African-American mayor .
II . Grover Cleveland
(1837–1908)
a US Democratic Party politician who was also President for two separate periods (1885–9 and 1893–7). He was known for his honest government, but the country had economic problems while he was President.
