Meaning of CURRIE in English

(1946– )

a former British Conservative politician who is known for saying what she thinks in a very direct way. A famous example was when in 1988 as a health minister she said that most eggs produced in Britain at the time were infected with salmonella (= a germ that can cause food poisoning). Currie has also written some novels.
