America’s oldest chocolate sweet, sometimes called the ‘Great American Chocolate Bar’. It was first produced by Milton Hershey in 1894. US soldiers kept Hershey bars to give to children in Europe during and after World War II when sweets were scarce there. Hershey Foods Corporation in Hershey, Pennsylvania, now also makes many other sweets.
