Meaning of OAKLEY in English

(1860–1926)

a famous US sharpshooter (= expert at shooting accurately). Her popular name was ‘Little Sure Shot’, because she was less than 5 feet (153 centimetres) tall. She and her husband Frank Butler, also a sharpshooter, worked as entertainers in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show . The musical play and film Annie Get Your Gun was based on her life.
