a US group of popular singers who were all members of the same family. They included six brothers and one sister. The most famous were Donny Osmond (1957– ) and Marie Osmond (1959– ). The Osmonds were Mormons and had a reputation for being very religious and morally good. Their hits included One Bad Apple (1971). Donny and Marie later had separate careers on their own, as well as recording several songs together, including I’m Leaving It Up to You (1974) and other hits. They have had two successful shows on US television, the Donny and Marie Show (1976–79) and a talk show Donny and Marie (1998–2000).
