a novel (1837) by Charles Dickens , the full title of which is The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club . It was originally written as a series of stories, published each month, about the amusing adventures of the members of the club established by Samuel Pickwick. Pickwick is a kind, friendly, fat man who often gets into difficult situations caused by misunderstandings or by his own good nature.
