I . Reno
a city in the US state of Nevada near the border with California . It is famous for its casinos and in the past its easy laws attracted people who wanted to get married or divorced quickly. Reno is on the Truckee River. It was settled in 1859 and named after General Jesse Reno, a US officer in the Civil War .
II . Janet Reno
(1938– )
the first woman to become US Attorney General. She held this position from (1993–2001), the longest period for an Attorney General in the twentieth century. She was criticized for giving approval for the attack in 1993 on the Branch Davidians led by David Koresh in Waco, Texas , and in 2000 she ordered the controversial arrest of the young Elián González so that he could be returned to his father in Cuba. In 2002 she competed, unsuccessfully, to become the Democratic governor of Florida.
