RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT

a US newspaper feature created in 1918 by Robert Ripley (1893–1949) who also drew cartoons (= comic drawings). It brings together strange facts and customs from around the world. It is still published and appears in many different newspapers. Ripley also used the title for a museum of strange things and for a television show. There are now 27 such museums in the US and other countries.
