a US director of films, many of them with the actor Robert De Niro , including Mean Streets , Taxi Driver , Raging Bull (1980), GoodFellas (1990) and Casino (1995). Scorsese’s other films include The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), which was criticized by some religious groups, The Age of Innocence (1993), Kundun (1997) and Gangs of New York (2002).
