one of the most successful US golf players of all time. Before he became a professional, he was the US Junior Amateur Champion for three years running (1991–3), followed by the US Amateur Champion for a further three years (1994–6). Woods won six of his first 21 PGA competitions, including the US Masters Tournament . At 21 he was the youngest winner ever of the Masters and achieved the lowest score (270) in its history. He won again in 2001 and 2002. He has also won the US Open (2000, 2002), the Open Championship (2000) and the PGA Championship (1999 and 2000).
