KARSHIPTA

[Persian] In Persian myth, a bird gifted with speech. Karshipta was sent to spread the religion of Ahura Mazda to the men assembled by Yima in his vara (enclosure). They were gathered there to protect themselves from the scourging winter that was to destroy mankind.
