[Egyptian] In Egyptian mythology, Taurt was the Goddess of Good Fortune and Childbirth. She was shown as a mixture of a hippopotamus' body, a crocodile's head, and a lion's feet. This goddess was popular with the ordinary men and women. She was responsible for fertility and protecting women before, during, and after childbirth. Her husband was Bes, the God of Pleasure.
