All the lands of the United States which the federal government obtained by cession from: (1) the 13 Original States (1789-1802); (2) the Louisiana Purchase (1803); (3) the cession from Spain (1819): (4) the occupation of the Oregon Territory (1846); (5) the Mexican Cession (1848); (6) the purchase from Texas (1850); (7) the Gadsen Purchase (1853); and (8) the purchase of Alaska (1867).
