(1) To pass slowly through small openings or pores; ooze. (2) An area which slowly passes water out of the ground to the surface, or where water moves slowly from surface bodies to groundwater bodies, as from canals and ditches into the underlying groundwater table. (3) An area of minor groundwater outflow onto the land surface or into a stream channel or other waterbody. Flows are usually too small to be a spring.
