HORIZONTAL INTEGRATION

A fishery (or industry) is horizontally integrated when firms in the fishery operate and manage multiple units at the same level of the supply chain. For example, a firm that operates several processing plants, across several regions or for different species, is considered horizontally integrated. OECD (1996)
