according to + the writer/Dr Owen/her teachers/them etc (NOT me/us ): 'According to Charles Anderson, the government should pay closer attention to public opinion.'
To introduce your own opinion, use in my/our opinion : 'In my opinion, he didn't deserve a prison sentence.'
