MECKEL'S DIVERTICULUM

An out-pouching of the small bowel (ileum). Present in about 2% of people and usually occurs about 2 feet before the junction with the colon. Can be lined by stomach-type mucosa and ulcerate, perforate, or cause small bowel obstruction.
