HARMFUL INTERFERENCE

1. Any emission , radiation , or induction interference that endangers the functioning or seriously degrades, obstructs, or repeatedly interrupts a communications system , such as a radio navigation service, telecommunications service , radio communications service, search and rescue service, or weather service, operating in accordance with approved standards, regulations, and procedures. ( 188 ) Note: To be considered harmful interference, the interference must cause serious detrimental effects, such as circuit outages and message losses, as opposed to interference that is merely a nuisance or annoyance that can be overcome by appropriate measures. 2. Interference which endangers the functioning of a radionavigation service or of other safety services or seriously degrades, obstructs, or repeatedly interrupts a radiocommunication service operating in accordance with these [ Radio ] Regulations.
