INCREMENTAL PHASE MODULATION (IPM)

In spread-spectrum systems, phase modulation in which one binary code sequence is shifted with respect to another, usually to conduct a synchronizing search, i.e. , a search to discover if the two sequences are the same, and perhaps thereby enabling two data streams to be synchronized.
