I love lovebirds.It has been my experience that the peach-face lovebirds make the best pets. I have handfed both masked / eye-rings and peach-faces and had to spend MUCH more time with the eye-rings also known as masked lovebirds to get them tame. My little Soleil, a lutino peach-face lovebird, is such a sweetheart, whom I can easily take with me everywhere I go (even smuggled him in a restaurant once ;-) Very cuddly, very animated. Yeah, occasionally with an attitude, but I wouldn't be without a little lovebird pet. Provided they are well socialized, they make wonderful pets. They do require daily socialization though. Don't continue to ignore a lovebird and expect it to stay tame. That won't happen. It's a great bird for someone who REALLY wants a cuddly bird and is willing to provide daily interaction to his / her pet. It is difficult, or maybe impossible, to tame an adult lovebird though. So get them young and handfed if you want it to be as cuddly as my own lovie Soleil is.
