HUMPHREYS PEAK

highest point (12,633 feet ) in Arizona, U.S., 10 miles (16 km) north of Flagstaff in the Colorado Plateau. It is one of the three San Francisco Peaks, on the rim of an eroded volcano, and is situated in the Coconino National Forest. The mountain was named after Andrew Humphreys, a 19th-century railroad surveyor.
