a British make of lager, a type of pale light beer . A series of amusing advertisements for it appeared in the 1980s and 1990s. They showed a man doing something very unusual or surprising, usually requiring special skill or strength, and somebody else saying, ‘I bet he drinks Carling Black Label.’
