Meaning of SOIL SORPTION COEFFICIENT (KD) in English

A parameter relating the partitioning of a chemical between soil and water in a soil-water mixture. The coefficient is computed by: Kd = Cs/Cw Kd = Cs/Cw; where Cs is the amount of a specific chemical bonded to the soil (micrograms chemical per gram of soil) and Cw is the concentration of the same substance dissolved in the water (micrograms of the chemical per gram of water).
