the idea that people will buy more goods and services if aggressive sales techniques are used and that high sales result in high profits.

Note: The problem of sales orientation is also a lack of understanding of the needs and wants of the marketplace.

eg: A company often find that, despite its aggressive sales techniques such as promotion and discount, it cannot convince people to buy goods or services that are neither wanted nor needed.
