On September 13, 1759, it was the scene of the decisive battle of the French and Indian War , in which the British under Montcalm . U.S. forces held the plateau (1775–76) in their siege of Quebec during the {{link=American Revolution">American Revolution . It is now a park within Quebec city limits.
