Meaning of CEOL in English

died 597 king of the West Saxons, or Wessex. Ceol was the son of Cutha, who was brother of King Ceawlin. After his victory over his uncle Ceawlin at Wodnesbeorg (Wiltshire) in 592, he reigned for five years. He was succeeded by his brother Ceolwulf (reigned 597611) and then by his son Cynegils.
