died 1005 byname Garca The Trembler, Spanish Garca El Trmulo king of Pamplona (Navarre) and of Aragon from about 994 to about 1000, son of Sancho II Garcs. Coming to the aid of besieged Castile, Garca fought against the Muslim forces of Abu 'Amir al-Mansur. Mansur then turned his armies against Navarre (1002), burning the monastery of San Milln de la Cogolla before dying unexpectedly. Garca died three years later and was succeeded by Sancho III Garcs, the Great.
