tin-glazed earthenware produced in Moulins, Fr., at first a slavish copy of the wares of nearby Nevers. It is distinguished only by its use of an iron red not found on Nevers ware. Later, Moulins showed more originality, especially in its ware decorated in Chinese style. Typical themes in this style are a Chinese standing near a large flowered plant and holding a parasol, the so-called Chinese music lover, and the Tatar rider.
