TAYSIDE

region of north-central and eastern Scotland, created by the administrative reorganization of 1975, with an area of about 2,900 square miles (7,510 square km). It includes the former counties of Angus, city of Dundee, Kinross, and most of Perth and is divided into the districts of Angus, City of Dundee, and Perth and Kinross. Pop. (1989 est.) 392,500.
