WANG MANG

born 45 BC, China died Oct. 6, AD 23, China Pinyin Wang Mang, posthumous name, or shih (Wade-Giles romanization) Chia Huang-ti, or She Huang-ti founder of the short-lived Hsin dynasty (AD 9-25). He is known in Chinese history as the "Usurper." Additional reading Homer H.
