I . John Cage

(1912–1992)

a US composer of modern and unusual music who was an important influence on other composers. He used ordinary noises and a ‘prepared piano’ with items attached to its strings to produce different sounds. His works include the silent Four Minutes 33 Seconds (1952), during which a person sits at a closed piano for that length of time without making a sound.

II . Nicolas Cage

(1964– )

a US film actor who won an Oscar and Golden Globe Award for his part in Leaving Las Vegas (1995). His uncle is the director Francis Ford Coppola . Cage’s other films include Raising Arizona (1987), Wild at Heart (1990), The Rock (1996), Con Air (1997) and Adaptation (2002).
