I . Alan Clark

(1928–1999)

a British politician who was also known for his sexual adventures. His father was Kenneth Clark . He was a member of Margaret Thatcher’s government and came to the public’s attention through the Matrix Churchill affair and through his diary of the Thatcher years, which was very successful when it was published in 1993.

II . Kenneth Clark

(1903–83)

an expert on the history of art who wrote many books. He is best known for his very successful television series and book Civilisation (1969) about the history of Western European art and culture. He was made a knight in 1938 and a life peer in 1969.
