a race for sailing boats that takes place every two years. The boats start at Cowes on the Isle of Wight and sail to the Fastnet Rock, off south-west Ireland, and back to Plymouth in south-west England. It is one of the most famous races in the sailing world, and the final event of the Admiral’s Cup .
