Meaning of FRIEDMAN in English

(1912– )

a US economist who received the 1976 Nobel Prize for Economic Science. He supports monetarism, the belief that a nation’s economy is mostly affected by the control of the supply of money by its government. Friedman advised Presidents Nixon and Reagan . He wrote Capitalism and Freedom (1962) and Free to Choose (1980), and taught at the University of Chicago from 1946 to 1977.
