Meaning of LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST in English

a play ( c. 1595) by William Shakespeare . The story is about a king and three of his lords who decide to keep away from women for three years and spend the time studying. When the Princess of France arrives with three of her ladies, the four men forget their plans and fall in love. The play also contains the character Holofernes, a boring schoolteacher who is described as having been ‘at a great feast of languages and stolen the scraps’.
