Meaning of QUEEN’S ENGLISH SOCIETY in English

( abbr QES )

a British charity which aims to encourage the use of good English. It is opposed to many modern developments in the language and encourages traditional teaching methods. The Society publishes a journal, Quest , four times a year and organizes talks and conferences about English usage.
