a British Conservative politician and leading Euro-sceptic . He was Secretary of State for Wales between 1993 and 1995, when he lost a contest against John Major for the leadership of the Conservative Party. When Major resigned as leader of the party after losing the 1997 election, Redwood again tried without success to become leader. He has served as a member of the Shadow Cabinet from 1997 to 2000 and from 2004.
