Meaning of STEPTOE AND SON in English

a BBC comedy television series, broadcast between 1964 and 1973. It is about a father and son who are rag-and-bone men (= people who collect old clothes, furniture, etc. to sell again) in London. Much of the humour comes from the characters of the two people, who often argue and trick each other. It is considered one of the best British comedies of all time:
