TORVILL AND DEAN

Jayne Torvill (1957– ) and Christopher Dean (1958– ), a pair of English ice dancers who together won many international competitions in the 1980s. They were the Olympic champions in 1984 and the world champions every year from 1981 to 1984. They were known for their exciting, dramatic performances and for the number of times they were given maximum points by judges. Later, they became professional and performed in specially created shows on ice.
