the symbol of the Tudor (1) family when its members were the kings and queens of England (1485–1603). It was introduced by Henry VII when he became the first Tudor monarch, and was a combination of the white rose (the symbol of the House of York ) and the red rose (the symbol of the House of Lancaster ).
