[Other] In Annamese belief, the house guardian who resides in the lime jug. Every household possesses such a jug in which the lime is stored that is used in preparing betel pellets. If the jug is broken, it forebodes the death of a family member. The broken pieces are then carefully placed on or under the trees near a pagoda in order to propitiate its resident, who then takes up residence in the new jug.
