FIRST CREATOR

[Native American] One of the beings, who, in Awaxawi belief, who formed the world, along with Lone Man. These two sacred beings competed to see who could make the best country. On the east side of the Missouri River, Lone Man created the plains and on the west, First Creator made the badlands. While this happened, the Awaxawi were living inside the earth. They then climbed to the surface on a vine and wandered until they reached their present day home in North Dakota.
