FRESH-WATER ESTUARY


Meaning of FRESH-WATER ESTUARY in English

A condition similar to a salt-water estuary except that the semi-enclosed body of fresh water has a free connection with a larger body of fresh water. An example is an area where a river empties into a large lake and there is considerable mixing between the two water bodies at the point of connection.
