SLURRY WALL

Meaning of SLURRY WALL in English

(1) Material placed vertically in the ground to prevent the lateral movement of groundwater. (2) Barriers used to contain the flow of contaminated water or a subsurface liquid. Slurry walls are constructed by digging a trench around a contaminated area and filling it with an impermeable material that prevents water from passing through it. The ground water or contaminated liquids can then be exacted or treated within the area confined by the slurry wall.
