"Krill" comes from the Norwegian word meaning "young fish" and is now commonly used as the common term for Euphausids, a family of crustaceans found throughout the world oceans. There are 85 species of krill, some of which are exploited commecially. The Antarctic Krill is Euphausia superba . Other species include Euphausia pacifica, Euphausia nana, Thysanoessa inermis, meganyctiphanes norvegica, Nyctiphanes australis.
